About Me
With over 28 years of professional law enforcement experience, I have had opportunities to invest my education and experience in many specific areas. But, I discovered my greatest passion and energy invested has been with my department's field training program. I found myself in countless opportunities to work one-on-one, partner with and cultivating teams, mentor, and contribute to a purpose driven service to our community and each other. These are some fancy ways of simply saying "I love being a part of field training!" I would argue that a department's field training program is THE most critical ancillary assignment of any law enforcement agency, but the assignment that is the least invested in. It is here that we charge our experienced officers with the task of developing new officers into servants of our communities by being professional representatives of our agencies. Having countless conversations with field trainers, who were asking for help with some of their training struggles, it was apparent that not only is there little to nothing for field trainers beyond the certification course but the information shared between us was isolated to our conversation. I felt convicted that this needs to change by sharing content of those conversations with anyone who needs them, when they need it! As I am reaching my time for retirement from my department, I am not done serving. But, I feel God has led me to focus my time and experience toward officers and their departments. This is why I created The Police Field Trainer. Please explore all it has to offer.
